Glycolic acid

An acid exfoliating the epidermis from the AHA acid group, often used during cosmetic procedures and in cosmetic products.

Glycolic acid, also known as hydroxyacetic acid, is an AHA exfoliating acid. It is regularly used during various types of cosmetic procedures. More and more often, however, it is used in home care. It is an acid with a simple structure and low molecular weight, which means that it has the ability to penetrate into the deeper layers of the epidermis. For this reason, we can now find many cosmetics on the market that contain some concentration of a glycolic acid.

Glycolic acid has the ability to stimulate fibroplasts, which are responsible for the production of collagen and elastin, and thus - delays the aging process of the skin. Regular use of a glycolic acid reduces wrinkles, exfoliates the epidermis, regulates the secretion of sebum, and also deeply moisturizes. Therefore, it is recommended for people with dry, oily and acne-prone skin.

Glycolic acid can be found in various types of tonics, serums, creams or as a separate substance. Our Spa offer also includes a treatment with the use of glycolic acid.
