A massage whose task is to improve the flow of lymph / lymph in specific parts of the body. This treatment is otherwise known as lymphatic drainage.
Lymphatic drainage is performed when there is a stagnation of lymph in the body, and thus the formation of swelling on the body. These may be postoperative edema caused by injuries or various types of chronic diseases, e.g. diabetes. The use of this type of massage is also effective in the fight against cellulite. It also supports the weight loss process.
Lymphatic massage consists of two phases:
Movement phase - the therapist uses appropriate pressure techniques to drain the excess lymph from the proximal parts to the distal parts,
Relaxation phase - in this phase, the therapist refills the lymphatic vessels.
We can perform lymphatic drainage on different parts of the body. We distinguish, among others:
Lymphatic drainage of the hands - often used in women after mastectomy. It covers the entire length of the arms from the groin to the fingertips.
Lymphatic drainage of the legs - improves blood circulation along the lymphatic vessels and reduces pain in the calves. Recommended for people who work standing up (waiters, hairdressers, manual workers).
Abdominal lymphatic drainage - often used in the treatment of postoperative and lipid edema. It is effective in the fight against cellulite and supports slimming processes.
Facial lymphatic drainage - cleanses the face of toxins and fights swelling and bruising on the face.
